Inconel 718 Bar
1.Introduction
Nickel 718, or Inconel 718 is a precipitation hardening nickel-chromium alloy that contains molybdenum, iron, columbium, and smaller traces of aluminum and titanium. Designed to exhibit significant yields, high strength, good ductility, and creep rupture properties up to 1300°F (704°C). These characteristics provide alloy 718 good formability, weldability, and cryogenic allowances compared to the metals other nickel based superalloys. The sluggish age hardening characteristics in alloy 718 also allow annealing and welding without the occurrence of spontaneous hardening during heating and cooling. This alloy is also non-magnetic, maintains significant corrosion and oxidation resistances and can be used in applications like jet engines, airframe components, and high temp bolts and fasteners.
