Improvement cases in PVC pellets production

1.Application field: PVC pellets production 

2. Main problems:Customer needs two machines to process PVC pellets. One machine is needed to produce the raw materials and then another machine is used to reprocess, otherwise the pellets cannot be formed; Also the screw is broken easily (see details as below)

3. Original screw structure is as below

4. We speculate the reasons for broken are as below:

1)The original screw structure is for PVC pipe production. It is not applicable for PVC pellets production;

2) The plasticizing area is short in the original design, thus the plasticization is insufficient;

5. Bloom suggested the solutions as below:

    The plasticizing area shall be lengthened and alloyed to enhance the plasticizing rate and wear resistance of the entire set of products.

6.  Trial order from customer

     Customer ordered one set of improved screw and barrel as trial order for testing  

7.Testing results

    The production capacity increased twice after screw structure improvemed; Also the quality of the PVC pellets are very good.

8. Further actions of customers

Customer is continuously placing orders for a batch of 9 sets screw and barrel, to upgrade of production capacity.
